| Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 | cyclic redundancy check i keep getting this error message (cyclic redundancy check ) when trying to install rainbowsix vegas 2, i have tried a new hard drive, a new dvd drive, and a clean install of vista ultimate 64 bit, anyone got any ideas ?, all drivers are upto date. i cant copy the data 2 file direct from the dvd to c/drive either, this seems to be the root of the problem. | Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: cyclic redundancy check Try a new DVD - a CRC error means the data is corrupted on the DVD - meaning either it is scratched or it is truly corrupted. |

| Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 | Re: cyclic redundancy check i tried the DVD on another computer and it loaded without any problems so the fault is in my system, i can load all my other games ok, BIOSHOCK runs great, CoD 4, GEARS OF WAR, UNREAL 3, MOH AIRBORNE, CRYSIS, they all run without any bother, RAINBOW SIX VEGAS even runs ok but not RAINBOW SIX VEGAS 2, |

| Windows Vista™ Ultimate | Re: cyclic redundancy check Yep CRC errors mean the CD or DVD is or very soon will be permanently ******....You can try a new CD or DVD drive or swap the ones your using between XP and Vist but the DVD disk itself is on its way out. Steven |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: cyclic redundancy check how sad... CRCs in my opinion are the worst errors of ANY windows OS's.... The best things u can do: 1) Use Unstoppable Copier: Roadkil.Net And make it copy all the files (starting from largest going to smallest) on ur DVD.... 2) Go copy all the files on the DVD in ur friends comp who has a better comp than you that u drool at, then use a USB/Ext HD and transfer them all to ur comp.... Unstoppable Copier really helps... (helped me with copying CS:S on my comp) but it requires LOADS of patience... If ur not one who likes to wait, go for the second method.. |
