Race Driver: GRID

I have a little problem with GRID, there is a crash that always happens when I'm racing the 24h LM, It says it has performed an illegal operation and should shut down (the usual). But the weird thing is, it always happens at the same time, at the same spot on the map (second little corner on the long road), I tried reinstalling the game but that didn't solve it, tested it on another PC, there it works fine.

Please help me.

Re: Race Driver: GRID

havent gotten up to there yet, im running on vista ultimate x64; will let you know if mine locks up too. where abouts exactly is it?

by the way its great game =] despite the ULTRA sensitive handling; was thinking of getting that 360 controller reciever unit to use as controller to solve the sensitivity problem. (or find the rest of my logitech wheel hidden amongst other unused things in the garage, only found the pedals to date...)

Re: Race Driver: GRID

hoojee, I've been using the wired 360 controller and it has worked great since the game was made with the 360 controller in mind. There's even settings in game to set the deadzone of the joysticks. I can't race without it...

Re: Race Driver: GRID

Hey Folks!

If anbody is having crashes and/or the game does not even start. I think I found one big solution. I have Creative PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card, which is (was) great.^^ However it does not have a proper Open AI or god knows what, to run the game, so it crashes as soon as it has been initiated. How weird is that? However, the most weird thing was, after sucking four hours trying to figure out what the problem is, we have decided (my buddy was VNC-ing from home, and we were talking on Skype) to disable the sound card. Guess what? The game was running. I was petrified, because the card was expensive, and the game too. And Creative has decided to proved a 2007 summer update for Opean AI. How lame is that??? Anyways, I have written recently to Creative to find a solutions or will come (hahahah).
So, if any of you is struggeling with crashes and freezes, just disable the sound card, and try to run the game without sound, it will work. I think ASUS has another type of SC, which was not working either. Who knows?

I hope my post help you, to not waste hours to diagnose a tiny little problem, which is not even your or hardware's fault.

Have a nice a crash clear day.

AMEN

Insmart

Re: Race Driver: GRID

That happens to me on some games and on the exact spot (give or take a few feet). Usually this happens if the installation was corrupted so reinstalling the game from scratch helps (make sure you save your Saved profiles first, otherwise, you'll need to start a new game from scratch as well.)

Also, and for the most part, I use a No-CD crack .exe because I hate to have my cd/dvd in the drive and some of them do make more problems than they solve.

Race Driver: GRID - Graphical Setting Crash

Hi guys! Finally I have solved my sound issues in the Grid Race Driver, now another problem popped out. For some reaseon if I go to "Options" menu, and try to pick the "Graphical settings" menu, the game immediately crashes, and I have the dialog box to close the program or find solution online. If I click on the the online solution, the dialog biy disappers. Weird, init? The most annoying thing is that I cannot setup better graphic performance. However I have a really strong maschine (Dual quad 2 core 2800 @ 6600, 8GB Ram, 4850 ATI Glacier, Liquid cooling system etc)

Now I have a long ass letter from creative what to do and how to solve the problem (updating all bios drivers, sc drivers, firmware drivers etc) I think i will put a fresh clean windows on the computer again.

Anbody has the same thing as I do? Please drop me a few lines If you know something.

Greetings

Insmart

P.S.: Using windows vista ultimat x64 bit
