Ok, there's your problem right there. Anti-aliasing takes away the jagged lines in 3d games, but it's a big performance hit to the graphics card. And Crysis is so graphics intensive already, that in fact, I don't think I've ever heard about anybody playing Crysis with AA on yet. Your processor is fine and you won't see incredible gains in Crysis by going to Quad.

So turn off Anti-aliasing and you will be able to play Crysis much better.
Alright. Thanks. I'll give it a shot somtime soon. Probably in the next couple minutes. Thanks again. You guys have been a big help.

Re: Crysis

I run crysis with 8x antialising, and I still get awesome frame rates. The only downside is ive got that damn crackling sound problem and whenever that hits it drops the framerate down to a crawl. I'm runing an nForce 790i ultra sli motherboard, quad core 2.66ghz (no overclocking to the cpu or video card as of yet), 2 x 512mb 9800GT w/ SLI, 4gig DDR3 1067mhz ram, 22" monitor.

I finally loaded crysis after fooling around a few hours. However, the game is really slow. my system config is not the best but could that be the major problem?

Yes, your video adapter is very lacking. You will not be able to play any recent games at reasonable settings at a good speed.

Depending on your video card, when a game is set too low, it causes stress on the CPU since the CPU is doing most of the work and is behaving as a tight bottleneck to your system. You should run the game at around the recommended system settings according to your video card.
