Hi xxxnixyxxx and welcome to the forums,

So what are your system specs?
AMD X2 Dual Core 4000+
nVIDIA GeForce 9600GSO

....

On my friends computer, he has also lower spec..., he can play on 32bit processor, but on mine 64bit, just doesn't work...

Re: Crysis

it may be just your os. I was recommended to get x32 vista home premium for gaming as x64 is still unstable. I'm having no probs whatsoever with crysis.

Re: Crysis

OK, I'll give everyone the needed words to let you understand this game.

You can't Play with Integrated Graphics, you need a actual added VIDEO CARD to your system, or it will not play anything close to be able to enjoy. Also unless you're running at LEAST a Dual core at 2.4 GHz or above, it will also lagg very much.

It's recommended to get at least a Nvidia 8600 or above, and a Dual core to even TRY to play this game.

When I first got Crysis, I had a AMD Dual Core 5400+ at 2.8 GHz and integrated graphics, Game woulnd't play. I upgraded to a cheap, and weak, but ok videocard. a Nvidia 8600GT. I could play on my 22inch LCD screen with all settings at Meduim, and get good enough fps to actually enjoy myself. then I got a 8800GTS and it was much much better.

Also, unless you have a very very good Videocard, DO NOT turn on Anti-Asling. as that will TAX your gfx card very very hard.

I now run with a Quad Core at 3.6 GHz, with a Nvidia GTX260 and 4GB of ram and I still don't get above 60fps unless I lower my resolution.

So Please, don't try to play this unless you have got an actual graphics card, and at least a Dual core CPU.

as to the OP, your e8400 should play this game Fine, anything above 3.0 GHz is only adding very small increases. unless you have the latest and greatest gfx card. with your e8400 and a 9800GTX you should be able to play this game on high, and enjoy it. Very High would be pushing it. I'd recommend overclocking your e8400 to 3.4 GHz or more just for that little extra. above that is not needed at all really.

The cheapest card I'd recommend anyone to buy, at the least is the Nvidia 8600GT. now since things are sooo cheap, get an 8800GT and enjoy the game

Oh and Crysis Warhead, the Parallel story to this one comes out September 16th. I'm exited and already have it purchased and reserved.

Re: Crysis

the 9800gtx is basically the same card as an 8800gts 512mb. You would have been better off keeping ur 8800gt but buying another 8800gt so you could use sli (unless you have a crossfire board)

The nvidia card numbering system is really confusing & doesnt help users choose their gfx card properly.

Also, i chose to run the game with all settings at high when i first started with no AA. When i got to the large open bay area on the first level, i started to incrementally increase my settings. Now i just have water detail, pysics quality & sound quality on very high. This stopped me being tempted by the grpahics to keep all settings at very high then end up killing my frame rate later on.

Is it true that when in dense forest the trees & shrubs not in ur field of view will dissapear?

I can run Crysis on any graphical setting except low. When did it come to this?
......all settings except low ??

@ what FPS....??

system specs please...
OS Vista Ultimate x64 SP1
CPU Intel
Motherboard ASUS
Memory A Couple of Gigs
Graphics Card nVidia

That's what he's posted in his system specs. Narrows it down, doesn't it?

Crysis is just a badly written game, full stop. My friend has two 8800 Ultras in SLI, Q6600 and you would have thought he'd be able to rip the pants off of Crysis, but no. Still plays like crap.

Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy all the DX10 goodness with Warhead at nice fps.

Re: Crysis

XXX Nix, you should be able to play it on decent medium settings.. might be choppy at a few scenes. but you'll be ok. Also I passed on the Samsung T220 and got my second samsung, the 2253BW, I didn't like the RED Bezel on the bottom. but question, do you like it. How is the screen? and how are the colors on it with the new TOC technology.? I'm very interested.
Also your main problem other than maybe the CPU. is your GFX card is the GSO edition, the GT woulda been much better. and your CPU is a little old, but you should completely be able to play Crysis on medium.

and everlong, yes Crysis hands down was not very well optimized. it was very poorly written, and runs terrible. NASA can't even run it well. lol
the New Crysis Warhead will be released on Sept. 16th and I've already got it coming on the 15th. it is supposed to be MUCH MUCH better, it's the same game, looks slightly better, but very much more optimized and they say will run about 30-40% better. I like that idea. I'm exited to get it.
Also Crysis doesn't do well with SLI, you're freind would be just as well off with only one Ultra on Crysis. but the new game will TEAR it up with SLI.

Like I said. I have a Q6700 at 3.4 GHz, with 4GB RAM and a GTX260 at the 280 speeds. and I can get over 50fps all day with 2xAA. thats not that great, but pretty amazing for Crysis, don't worry the next one will rock. I can't wait for Crysis 2. I wonder when it will come.
