Good. I like it. Played for a solid 4 hours today. It's really cool. Looks amazing. slightly different than the first. but looks a little better personally. it's crazy how good it looks. and it plays better than the first. and looks better.

but to be honest. my FPS aren't all that much better. but it does play better. It's smoother, thats for sure. I had everything set to Enthusiasts though. and I'm on a 22" LCD. and I was using 2xAA also. I got around 50-60fps and never, never went under 38-40. ever.

The shooting is a little different. like the feel to it. but I very very quicky got used to it. and started Shootin them Koreans.

One of the biggest improvements of the game I must say. is the Killing. The first game. you could unload an ENTIRE clip of a assault Rifle into someone's chest and they'd bounce around and shoot back. now they Die much easier, and more realistically. you hit them in the head. they die. the other one they wouldn't. it took some time to kill them. so now it's very realistic and much funner to shoot to kill, and run along.

One thing I don't like so far. is the speed. I feel like the guy actually is walking slower in this one than the original. but maybe I'm just crazy. maybe I'll change a setting in the game files so I walk faster. that would be easy enough.

Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Just read the review in PC Gamer too, though they didn't mention much about the performance apart from don't expect to be able to run it at like 1600x1200 and stuff as it will still play crap, especially in the snow and ice levels.

Looking forward to my upgrade next month then and seeing how it plays, hopefully it's SLI friendly unlike the first.

Thanks for the insight in to the game :)

Also read that at one point, a team mate plants C4, but it doesn't actually show the C4, he just looks like he's rubbing the rock. If that's the case, bit of a disappointment they skipped a corner with that :(

I just got it too. Probably half way through the game. It runs pretty good at 1280x800 at HIGHEST settings (without AA). I have a 22inch and at 1680x1050 I can hardly run HIGH. Even with SLi turned on. Doesn't look too bad at 1280x800 I guess.

I have a question. At first installation, I ran the game and they said some MFC690.dll file was missing or something, but it ran anyway. After that I went to search for that file online. Downloaded and placed it in my system. Ran the game after that and it said something similar, some ordinal thing not being able to follow up or some crap like that. But the game still runs. Annoying error message though. Anyone know how to fix that problem?

The issue presents itself in this way: when using the menus WITHIN an online match, I find I have to direct my cursor at least an inch to the right of the button I wish to select... sometimes further. This problem is not present in any of the Main Menu or Settings screens. Only all the IN-GAME menus; like the Team Selection screen, and all the weapons and attachments menus. Anyone got that bug too? Would be good if you could help. It's just as annoying. Other than that the game is great!

Hi Joshes, sorry about the previous answer without thinking. I just remember it happens a couple time before. All you need to do is drop the screen and put is back by pressing control-alt-delete and exit pop-up window then put the game screen back on. Hope this would work for you.

hm.. yes the game is already out. and it's pretty good. yes I like it.

I've played about 4 or so hours of it so far. and I've not had a teamate plant a bomb like that.. They put a bomb on a wall to blow up. but I wasn't near. as I was running for cover.. lol. and I'm pretty sure they didn't cut corners. it's realistic in EVERY way. I shot a guy, one shot in the head. he went limp and fell to his knee's. and fell sideways into a Hummer. on the tire, but he didn't fall over. stayed on his knee's and against the car.. cuz wasn't room to fall. pretty realistic to me. so I shot the tire and it went flat it lowered the truck and the guy fell over.. REALISTIC AS HELL. it's soo sweet. stuff like that just makes the game so so much better.

Also Joshes.. you have a great system there sir. you should be rockin with that on this game. I do see one problem for you. you have 9800GTX in SLI. those are 2 powerful cards. but you're probably getting limited by your CPU.. it's causing a bottlekneck.. I am almost positive if you overclocked your CPU from 2.83 GHz to something like 3.4 GHz. (and it would be very easy to hit that with that CPU). you'd notice a decently big increase in performance. I have a Q6700. 2.67 GHz. overclocked to 3.5 GHz and I play Crysis Warhead with a 22inch at full resolution of 1680x1050 and I get a solid 50-60 fps with 2xAA.. and if I go lower like you are with the resolutiuon the game screems. I know my graphics card is better than yours. but if you overclocked your CPU. you'd for sure see a noticeable increase in performance. you should be able to be playing with decent framerates with your 22" LCD at it's native resolution.

let me know if you have any questions.. also is your PC custom build.. or a brand name, HP, Dell etc...

game is great. anyone that has played the first and enjoyed it.. get this one. it's got great improvements.. the first one you had to lean over. and actually hit a button to pick up every single dead guys weapon in order to have enough Ammo.. now this new one. if you already have that gun. it gets it for you.. big improvement.. I hated gathering ammo THE ENTIRE GAME..

Get this game.. it's good!

Well.

I finished Crysis Warhead tonight.. I've been playing for the last 6 hours straight.. not one freeze. nothing. lol. I had my CPU clocked at 3.66 GHz. and my GTX260 from 576 MHz core to 720 MHz Effectively. it was great.
Averaging around 50-70 FPS depending on what level with 1680x1050 on Highest settings and 2xAA.. any higher AA and it was drop very badly. I have some crazy screenshots I'll go sort through and post in a few minutes.

I hope you all enjoy. and if you're system can handle this game. I strongly recommend it.

Thanks!

I must say. I played for about 6 hours and my graphics card only got to 64c even at the end.. haha. and with all the FPS dropping at the end thats really good.

I'm going to say that I think I liked this one more than the first.. It's a great game. the story was actually much much better. They got more realistic. There was actually a plot.. Our Character. Psycho he even is like Crying in one scene right after a teamate dies. It was a little weird watching the video with him sniffling all sad.

But damn, overall it was a great game. It played well. I don't think it was any better with how demanding it was over the first one. Might of been even worse. But with my GTX260 it handled it no problem. people with 8800GT's might struggle unless they use a lower setting.

and MAN.. my room right now, is SOOO hot. I just opened the door and wandered outside of my room to get some Heinken. and it was like walking into a walk in fridge in the rest of my house.. I'm thinkin it's at least a good 10-15 degree's F hotter in my room. This thing running at 62C is like a heater..

The gameplay was just soo good. All the different ways to attack. I even restarted a part just because it was so fun the first time I wanted to try again another way. Overall I hate this game as one of my favorite so far this year. It's a little short. but it was amazing! I can't wait til Far Cry2, it will be a really good game I think. and I've already Pre-ordered it. :)

OK. I've decided I'd post a few pictures for everyone. These are at 1680x1050 and the FPS are a little lower than usual because I had more AA turned up for the pictures to look better. One in particular is the Picture of the Frozen ground and the Bridge.. if you look. I have like 14 FPS.. thats because thats with the max 16QxAA.. not just 16AA but the Q version. there's the Q option in the game. for even better AA.. and I used that for a few pics. Here are some of my favorite. Although I only took these tonight. So the first 3/4th's of the game I don't have shots of. I'll replay it and take some. But here ya go. and enjoy!

This was one of my favorites.. Check out that Palm Tree in the Middles Shadow. VERY Realistic. soon I'll try a couple file mods so it looks even better

Here's a picture of the Bridge. This was a cool part.

This is my favorite Picture I think. It's just a great, clear shot of the water Scene. This is right after our Poor Psycho Is Crying in the game. but it's my favorite screeny so far.

This was also a favorite, but a favorite part of the game. You're sitting on a train shooting everything that Dares to move with a huge Gun. and then you enter the Swamps. it looked sooo good. I was lovin it.

Last, but not least. this is "Near" thhe end. I don't wanna give anything away. but lets just say I just got finished defeating this HUGE Alien thing. and my picture is is about half size, when he's Full force. He's twice that size easy.. The trick is to hide behind something While fighting. And shoot every chance you get.. in bewteen reloads I was lobbing ALL my grenades over the fence. hehe This was near the end.. Lots going on, and therfor bad FPS. but was very playable for me.

I know thats 5 very big screenshots.. but hopefully you guys will like them
Let me know if you have any questions or wanna see any others.

Enjoy, and go get this game!

The game ran great for me. I ran it on low res 1280x720 on a 17" monitor and my fps was a steady 124 on medium settings. Amazing. Haven't finished the game though. Got to the giant ship coming in over the airfield, made it to the airplane wreck in the middle of the airstrip was finally killed off. Great game though, can't wait to finish it.

Lets just say your getting close where you are. I know I set the graphics down from Enthusiasts to Gamer and got better FPS.. but I'm also running 1680x1050

For some reason I can run the AA settings anywhere I want and they don't slow the frame rate down one single bit. The new Crysis Warhead benchmark does the exact same thing. Running 16XQAA Enthusiast settings 1680x1050 was no problem at all.

The multi player game is so much better now but there are some bugs in it.
