Hi there, starting CoD4 multi and single player failed with massage: "iw3mp.exe is not responding...". Uninstall and reinstall resulted the same with the same massage. When I massed around with it, it went into blue memory dump screen then restart.

Any one encounter this problem or has any solutions please save me!

I recently installed Crysis Warhead and MS Office 2007. Crysis is working fine.

Thanks mansrm81 for the promptly respond and direction.

Problem fixed! Just in case that some is interested to know what is this about:

In my research I learned the iw3mp.exe problem is known for CoD4. May be caused by stale graphic or sound card drives. Also may caused by the recording function of the sound card is being enabled as suggested by mansrm81. Some quick fix is plug in the microphone or just plug such as of a head phone's. If neglect the problem, it will deteriorate to the point of unbootable even to save mode and unrepairable with window Vistar disk, like in my case.

So, to fix this I reinstalled Vista. Immediately installed Acronis TI (the TI boot disk didn't work) and restore my :C drive with my system backups in the second hdd (maxtor listed below).

After restored to healthy condition, I went ahead to disable the recording via sound tool and put a plug in the mic socket. Updated the drivers just in case. The whole process took me an hour and a half and returned to be a happy gamer again.

Thanks and best wishes
