I suppose I would classify myself as, "in your face". I love man vs man fps shooters where only skill and game smarts make or break the battle. To this day, imho, BF 1942 is one of the best games ever released. You need both skill and smarts to succeed. The point and click games, like CS and CoD, while fun, don't require you to think... just shoot. They're amusing, but only for a short while, at least for me. As for those RPGs and other stuff... meh... knock yourself out.

Thank you Amplid, I was'nt sure if it was going to take off or not, but blimey, I was away for a few days ill and come back to see 3 pages, so that makes me happy for once (and I am mostly a miserable old bugger) but glad people have chimed in and it makes for pleasant reading, and to know that I am not the only gamer around, other forums that I have in the past joined and put the same kind of post up barely got a response.

I am nervous of what I Post as I am not always the same person, my name gives it away I know, but its only portraying what I am.........sorry here I go rambling again, please excuse me

Fumz, have you checked Blackfootstudios.com? they are coming up with a game called "Ground Branch", it could be the next best thing since Publishers decided we were all teen players and they know better in terms of what we want to play.

Re: What kind of gamer are you?

I play a few games myself.

Only MMO I play is Star Wars Galaxies.

FPS games Counterstrike Source, occasionally Call of Duty 4, with Call of Duty United Offensive, been playing through Crysis Warhead, Farcry2, Half Life series (love playing through them over and over)

I like the odd RPG such as Oblivion, and should have Fallout 3 soon hopefully.

Re: What kind of gamer are you?

Here's a link of the projects. From what I understand, the 2 top dogs from Red Storm went out on their own.

Blackfoot Studios | Projects

If you don't mind registering, go to the forums and read more about it. The game was going to be offered by the end of 2008 but I think that lack of support (Publishing Co.) has pushed the development a bit further. Those guys just don't want to cave in to the stds UBI and others have to "sell the product and patch later".

CS might seem just like a "point and shoot" game, but if you get in to matches, it does get very tactical and to a point where the only way to win is to outsmart your enemy in a lot of cases.

Playing on public servers doesn't really do CS justice imo. You get all the CoD4 people just spraying and not many people do real tactics.

Yes this is the most friendly and helpful forum I have ever been on and I've been to alot, only one other I can remember having been to where I posted around 80 times, I think I have broken my record here and may well be the most posted on forum for me, well apart from my own (not meant as a plug)

I'm usually not a great socializer, and tend to sit back and say nothing, and when I do post its usually to ask about a problem, as I can't find it through searching.
