Re: Help with games.

Starkiller welcome to the forums.

Did you install the latest drivers for the card,

GeForce Release 180

or just running it on the default driver that Vista installs (or even worse, one through Windows Update)?

Re: Help with games.

The early Nvidia video drivers for Vista to put it kindly were garbage, and took them a few months before they finally got a mostly decent vista driver out. Your laptop being new it should have the newer driver installed, but with some of these computer manufacturer's anything is possible.

As for the drivers through Windows Update, in most cases they are older (and/or incomplete) than what is currently available from the manufacturer.

To see what version you currently have installed click on the Start orb and type in dev, then click on Device Manager. Next locate your video card in the list, right click on it and select properties, then click on the Driver tab and it will show the driver version. Make note of it and post that number back here.

Re: Help with games.

Hmmm, ok, not much to go on but its a start

Look at the following link, notice how many different laptops there are? if you look closer, each one will have a different model (ie: N6470, E8110, S7110, etc, etc)... we need the model of your laptop to help us guide you better.

I know very little about computers but less about laptop so I may not be the one to help you at all, but at least, with the model, others can point you in the right direction... I will try my best though.

Re: Help with games.

I'm not a nVidia user so this may not be right but this should be the latest drivers.
