Need Help Please with The SIms 2

Ok so dont get frustrated with me please because I'm not a computer genius , but I need a little help. OK so I recently bought The SIms 2 and was happily playing it until yesterday when I tried starting it again and before it could a window popped up that read deleting (C:\users\Sergio Santamaria\Roaming) but it nevers deletes! And it only happens when I try to start Sims 2. I tried rebooting the computer with no avail, I also tried re-installing the game, no luck. And not only that, a similar window always pops up when I delete or recycle other files. I have Windows Vista Home Premium, and really need help if anyone can. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi timetogetfunky and welcome to Vista Forums

Does this name Sergio Santamaria mean anything to you? Do any of the names that pop up in similar windows?

Ya, it is. I'm Sergio and that's the username I use on my laptop. So, do you know how to help me?

Are you talking about the User Account Control (UAC) prompts?

re: Need Help Please with The SIms 2

I dont think so. It only happens when I try to open the game. I think its trying to delete a roaming file with 0bytes, but I kept it on for three hours because I thought it was a question of patience and waiting for it to delete but it wont delete. The same thing happens when I try to recycle something on my desktop. It reads "recycling 1 item from public desktop" which it never did before and this window just stays on the screen and does not go away. Before, It usually just recycled it with no window popping up. Kinda weird!! Does anyone know how to fix this??

another note: when I try to cancel the "deleting" or "recycling" file it switches to "canceling..." and again the window does not close.

Have you tried something like CCleaner to clean your temp files and crap?

Did you reboot the computer to see if it clears? You might want to rebuild your index and do a disk defrag. It wouldn't hurt to run SFC/scannow either.

Option three in Brinks tutorial.
Indexing Options

Start Menu-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Defragmenter.

System Files - SFC Command
