| vista home premium 32bit | Problem with CoD WaW Hey, i was wondering if you guys could help me with an issue that i have with my newly bought CoD WaW game. I bought it from steam, so that may be where the isses lies, i have tried to re-install it several times though. The game runs flawlessly, but every 30, 40 seconds the game freezes for about 8 seconds. Also, the cinematics are all blackened, but the sound is still there. Hope someone here can help me with this, thanks in advance . |

| Vista Ultimate/buisness/home x64 | Re: Problem with CoD WaW The problem with freezing every 8 seconds I have seen happen for 2 reasons that i can think of. 1) on a laptop this can be caused by not setting the power saving mode to high performance, If it is set to power saver, (by default) it will throttle back the processor to save power even if you are plugged in. You have to set it to high performance. 2) on PC's I have seen it when a usb hub is plugged into a machine and a mouse is hooked into it, everytime you move the mouse it will slow down the video because it is robbing cpu cycles every 1/1000th of a second to scan where the mouse position is or something. If you unplug the hub and just plug the mouse into the machine this stops. Sometimes I can get it to happen with keyboards as well. The one hub that did this was a belkin hub. As for the multimedia problem, that sounds like an incorrct video driver issue, or not having the motherboard chipset drivers installed. hope that helps, if I think of anything else Ill post you back -K |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: Problem with CoD WaW Providing your system specs can yield better or, at least, more answers. The more info you provide, the better we can help. Stating the Driver versions of your GPU & Audio is always a plus because when people say their drivers are up to date, the majority think that by installing the drivers that came with the CD they are up to date and they can not be further from the truth. USB mouse is one of the culprits as stated by Klaudius. Below minimum system requirements is another one, old video and audio drivers could cause problems as well. |
