GTA IV and SLI

Hi,

Problem is, I installed the latest drivers for my 8800 Ultra 768mb, and i have installed the latest patch (1.0.02 or what ever its called, the latest one basicly) and but have no luck with SLI.
Do i need to roll back to the driver Nvidia 180.84, bare in mind i have had hardly any probs with the game since installing the latest drivers form Nvidia(part form some lag and chopines - but will be overclocking my quad form 2.5 to 3.0.

And on the same lines, i think i heard a rumor that you can edit the registry or something and it will work - does anyone know if this is true.

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: GTA IV and SLI

AFAIK GTA 4 doesn't support SLI... yet. So basically this is why you had no luck with it. Right now it doesn't matter which driver version you use, although the 180.84 seems to work best with new GTA.

the 181.22 drivers work perfectly with GTAIV, me and everlong were fiddling with the settings a while back and got some quite surprising results, The SLI though, just set one of your cards as a physx card and that should at least take some of the load off one card and you should see some performance increase.
thread here GTA 4 Minimum Requirements
look at page 9.

by disabling some of your graphics cards features, and reducing options in game, eg/ detail distance and texture quality, your game will run smoother. The resource usage counter gives a representation of how much resources are being used with the current settings.
