Sins of a Solar Empire Crashing in Vista x64

After recently patching Sins to 1.13 and actually playing online, I started getting an error. I am not sure what the error actually said. I'm at work right now, but once I get home I can post a screenshot of the error.

Anyways, I saw another thread on this forum, but decided against necroposting seeing as how my issue seems a bit different then the problem the other person was having. It doesn't just go black and shut down. Vista will give me an error chime and when any key is pressed, the game shuts down leaving me with the aforementioned message.

Also, here are my system specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium x64
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 Ghz dual core processor
nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX+ 512MB GPU
4GB DDR 800 DDR2 RAM

As far as what I've done: I already updated the game with all the latest patches and I also made sure that Windows was up to date. I also checked and updated my GPU drivers. Still got nothin'.

Any suggestions?

If I had this issue, I would try forums for this game first since there are more chances of someone running into that problem then here in the Windows Vista forums.

Hope this helped,

Heh, yeah. It's funny because that was the first thing I tried, but when I did a quick Google search when the problem initially started this forum actually turned out more results.

I did find a plug-in for Windows that I have installed, but haven't had the opportunity to try. Once I get home and test it out I will post the link here for others to try.
