F.E.A.R. Graphics FPC problem

Hello. Im running the first F.E.A.R. at all maxed out, also antialiasing and that kind of stuff at around 150 - 200 FPS but after like 45 seconds or sometimes later (even 10mins) it slows down to like 15 FPS and becomes unplayable. I have the latest drivers and stuff. What might be the problem?

Without knowing your system specs, we can only speculate and one of those speculations is Heat issues with your CPU or GPU.

Re: F.E.A.R. Graphics FPC problem

I just found out it is because of my keyboard, Logitech G15. Look here: http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/...cending&page=1

i agree, u need to get a better CPU cooling or even a GPU cooling, or maybe both

get 2 softwares by going to google and type in first:

CPU-Z that tells u all about your processor etc...

GPU-Z simular software, but it tells u everything about your GPU, if the heat on your GPU is above 50°c then you need a better cooling for you GPU, the normal heat on GPU's are 40-45°c

This tells me that you may not have the latest firmware or drivers for your G15 but, if you got it working, can you ell us what you did so others can learn from it?

"No update avaible at this time"

So, it is not anything about drivers.

Re: F.E.A.R. Graphics FPC problem

I had exactly the same problem and could not understand it at all, but I found out that it is the G9 Mouse and although I have a G15 Keyboard also, the keyboard was fine, its just the G9 Mouse, so I unplugged it and uninstalled the software plugged in an old mouse, and bingo Fear fly's now!!

If you have a G9 mouse just take it out and put a different mouse in, if not and it is your G15 then if you have an old keyboard, try that instead, I know I read about the G15 too, but as I say for me its not the G15 but was the G9, bad that as it took me ages to track it down

If the mouse is not working with the game, you need to run the game as administrator and custom set your mouse buttons inside the setpoint options.

J&K, can you elaborate as to why the game was not working with the g9 mouse? I just can't wrap my head around the idea that a kb or mouse would decrease game performance that way but, you know me... always looking for trouble and new ways to learn.

Re: F.E.A.R. Graphics FPC problem

Short answer I can't really, as I just found a complaint on one of the usual sites like game spot or one of those for the game Fear and a guy said he found it was his G9 that caused slowdown, and said it was the software, now your guess is as good as mine here.

So I thought, in for a penny, in for a pound and unistalled the software and the mouse plugged a Microsoft mouse in and voilą job sorted.

I didn't leave the G9 in and uninstall the software as I had major problems before doing that, in so much as when I rebooted I could not move my mouse to do things, and it resulted in my tearing chunks of my hair out trying to get things back to normal

That's the most I can say on it I'm afraid
