F.e.a.r. keep crashing!

I've just buy the first f.e.a.r., and it seems I can't play it....I can install it, but when I start to play, the screen become more colorful than a rainbow and my computer crash.
My question is, does f.e.a.r. is compatible with vista 64 bit home premium sp 1? I don't really understand that I can play Crysis, but not f.e.a.r.! Does anyone have the same problem? I've tried to run this game as an administrator, and to run it in compatibility mode, but nothing seems to do the trick. I've installed the latest driver for my graphic card, etc, etc....

Are all your drivers up to date? What versions are you running? make sure you install the latest drivers for sound, video and display... if that fails, try Compatible mode.

My computer is up to date i've download the latest driver for my GeForce 9100, and for my realtek high definition audio, the latest patch for the game, which is if I remember correctly is 1.08, and I already tried to run it in compatibility mode under windows 2000 and XP SP2...

Is there something I missed? Because I remember that on microsoft website, the first fear is not compatible with vista, but I know a lot of people who run Vista on their computer who can play fear without any problem!

Did it asked you to installed DirectX 9? if so, did you dismiss it thinking that the one you already got with vista is a newer version? (happens to everyone). If so, uninstall, reboot and install again, this time, go ahead and install DX9.

Don't ask me why but, sometimes, some games need to have DX9 install for them to work correctly more so in Vista than on Win 7.

If that doesn't work, sorry for making you go thru (through?) all that for nothing. It is worth a shot though seeing as to how the game does not work now. ;)

No need to apologize, dude! I'm here because I need help, so any advice is good to take!
I have directX 10 installed on my computer...But Yesterday I reinstall it, not in program files x86, but in a new folder I call "games" (very original) and I start the F.E.A.R. by clicking in my computer and clicking again on the DVD. That seems to do the trick, for now...Just like FarCry 2!

My Computer

I thought i would post this for some help
if you have a game that is not compatible with your computer check and see if it is on steam or a program made by Microsoft called games for windows live if its on there either sell or return your game then by it on one opf those programs and your computer should run better than how it was on the disk or it should be able to run period!:D
