Halo 2 keep crashing, "Failed initialization"

ok, so i just bought Halo 2, and i was cautious at first after seeing such demanding system requirements. but mine seemed to meet the minimum requirements, so i bought it anyway. installed fine, went to play, but as soon as the screen goes black to load the game, it crashes, leaving me with an 800x600 resolution and an error message saying "Initialization failed. Either insufficient system resources were found to run the game, or game data is missing or damaged" etc., etc. And i tried reinstalling with the same affect. restarted plenty of times, changed display settings, computer performance setting (laptop), and nothing changes. so i'm in need of major assistance. here are my specs:

Acer Aspire 5520
Windows Experience Index of 3.1
AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80 GHz Processor
1791 MB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7000M/nForce 610M Display Adapter
Generic PnP Monitor

and here are the Halo 2 MINIMUM ststem requirements, for comparrison:

The minimum system requirements to run Halo 2 on Windows Vista is a Windows Experience Index of 3.0. The recommended system requirements is a WEI of 5.0.

  • Requires Windows Vista or an XP machine with the following
  • 2GHz Pentium 4 Class Processor (or x64)
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 7GB of hard drive space
  • Nvidia 6100/ATI x700 video card or above
  • DVD-ROM drive
I'm stumped...

Hello Stroder,
You might try updating your graphics driver, i would say your system is just about able to run Halo 2, but it is borderline, i dont think you would have a very good gaming experience though, Good luck.
