| Newbie | WoW lag I just started playing WoW again and my latency is decent around 150 in most cases..... but every 5 minutes or so i get a lag spike for like 3-5 seconds and then everything speeds up which ussually ends up me being dead..... its really frustrating i tried downloading Vista anti lag which someone said would do the trick but it still does it.. My internet connection is Verizon fios and i have a wireless adaptor. can anyone help me with this issue? |

| Master | Re: WoW lag What is your service speed ? Someone local to me has wireless dsl. They get 45 Mbps from computer to modem; however, their service speed past that is 1.5 megabits. I play Everquest and find that 3 or better megabits service speed is needed to do away with lag. Having a graphics card that can handle lotgs of graphics is needed as well, particularly with the 'sparks' of various game spells. By service speed I mean the speed from the modem to the servers run by your ISP. |

| Graphics Freak | Re: WoW lag If your video card cannot handle some of the latest graphics improvements in the game you might see this kind of stuttering. Try turning your video settings down to all LOW then if the issue clears up, adjust each one up slowly till it stutters, then back off slightly and you should be ok. If your MS is stable and not spiking on screen from like 150 to 1500 then back down, then its probably the above video issue. |
