Vista - Need to know what to buy? Help pls

Hi I'm looking at buying my daughter a laptop not sure if she needs a dedicated graphics for uni but i thought it would be a bonus if she does. The first one i am showing you is a for a
1. HP dv6-1299ea with this graphics...ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 Up to 2815 MB total graphics memory with 1 GB dedicated DDR3
and the other one is a
2. HP DV6 - 1216SA with graphics....Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 - 512 MB

Is the 1st one better or shall I just stick with the 2nd not really clued up on what is what. Price wise the 1st one is £100 more thanks.
Please help any recommendations as must get a laptop asap thanks

and to answer your question.... the first one would be better.... but its more up to how much you want to spend

go for the cheaper one , it'll be absolutely fine for UNI stuff , unless she is studying graphic design

I agreed with archie, the cheaper one. You can hardly tell the different performance wise.

Hi thanks, she is doing advertising so not sure if she will need a good graphics probably any ideas thanks, if u think the cheaper one would be good i'll go for that? thanks

As a guess, if it's advertising - she may be using apps like Publisher, Photoshop and even some video editing software.

There's not much difference in performance between either machine, although the more expensive one will obviously perform a little better.

She should be fine with the cheaper one, but if she does need the extra grunt, it may be worth considering that extra cost.

get her the cheaper one and give her the 100 quid you saved to spend on beer you know she's gonna do it anyway
