re: All about DX11 and Tessalation

dude, every tech has its own advantages and disadvantages. tessellation is no exception.
On the good side, it defeats the long-standard parallax occlusion mapping on both performance and quality.
On the bad side, it's another buzz that only does limited contribution to the visual quality and shrink your gpu power almost to half.

you must understand, DX11 isn't all about tessellation. Probably tess is just a marketing hype from ATI. Technically speaking, tessellation is one of the least significant evolution from DX11.

To make long story short, DX11 is a big step for the history of GPU just like DX8 -> DX9. You will be amazed by its full potential.

it seems people seem to be getting the wrong end of the stick with this post , i dont think its a boring article , i dont think DX11 isnt a huge step forward i have researched it alot , i just wanted to let fellow tech heads see this article

(although i heard all this with before with DX10 and it was just a massive fps hit for fancy lighting)

the title meant that UNLESS your a tech type like us you will find the article boring

This is alittle off topic.
fps boost or not doesn't magically depend on DirectX itself. It largely related to your render engine architect.
By saying DX11 is a huge step forward(DX10 is also not bad), i have plenty of reasons. If u have looked into DX11 in depth, u can find it allows you to implements something fundamentally different.

Anyway, DX11 is a good thing, not a boring rubbish.
