Vista - Battlefield 2 Won't Run

How far in to the start up of the game are you getting ?.
Are you getting the "BF2 stopped responding" error message, or is it CTD and thats it ?.
A lot of the problems with this game were sound related, try playing around with the sound on your system.
Disable it to start and see what happens.
Do you have FFDShow on your system ?.
Can you confirm you are patched to the latest patch for the game.
This is not a Vista problem, so you need to start looking at other things.

I don't get any error messages, just CTD. I don't have FFDShow. Yes, I have patched the game to the latest version.

System passed. Chipset is really bad, but it was listed as playable on Intel's website - Intel® G33 Express Chipset - F.E.A.R.* game is playable

Only problem with what Intel has to say is that they like to lie through their teeth as to what their onboard video is capable of. To them if it plays (even at the lowest resolution, settings, and the FPS are like a slideshow), then it is "good enough".

Yeah, that is true, some of the games on that list have crashing problems.

You have any kind of budget for a video card? That Q6600 is crying for something other than that onboard.

Update - Seems I cannot patch to 1.50, it keeps saying I have a newer version even though I have the retail (1.0).

You need to have 1.41 installed first then install 1.50
