Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance Won't Run

I was bored today, so I found my Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance disk and decided to play a bit. It installed fine and I'd ran it before, but then when I tried to run it, the disk would spin and I'd get the loading image. The disk suddenly stops spinning, then the program closes and I get the same old "This program has stopped working..." error. I've tried compatibility modes and running as administrator, but I still have no idea what's wrong.

Any help here? Thanks.

I don't know what you're trying to get at, but that did absolutely nothing...
Uh, could you explain to me how not showing the Microsoft programs would do anything, I couldn't even press apply since nothing changed at all.

Thanks for your help anyways.

Did some digging around and solved my problem. all I had to do was disable Spyware Doctor (Damn thing causes so many problems I'm considering getting rid of it.). Thanks for trying!

Yeah, sorry about that, I left out the step to disable all other services. My thought was that there was some third party service interfering with the installation. It must have been the Spyware Doctor.

Hope you resolved the problem.
