It depends really on how old the games are you want to play. In most cases, just install the game as normal and play. Some older games may require updates, like Diablo 2 or Sims 2, but most should work fine on Vista x64 without any problems.

In the rare instance that you do have problems, you could always try compatibility mode, and if it's a really old game, download the free Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, install XP on it, and run the game in a virtual pc environment. I haven't had to do this for a while, but it may help you.

there is games such as sim tower sim city 2000, theme hospital, and so on
but accually the problem is not only old games. most game new and not older than 3 years ago works fine, but for example i dident get microsoft flight simulator x to run beacuse it said some wierd error message that contained something about x86 arhitechture so i wasent able to run that either.

Keep an old computer in the loft. Thats what i do, same as all my consoles that are stuck up there, then if for some reason I have a nostalgia attack i got and get them down.

To put it into a technological context its a bit like trying to get a Video Cassette to play in a Blu-ray player, people would never expect that to work but for some reason think it should work with a PC! :D

hmm, ya maybe it would be good to have when i got those "nostalgic-attacks" or maybe i got to play another game like those nes games i got :)

On the subject of really old games and nostalgia, does anyone here know where I can get a ZX Spectrum Emulator that works on Vista x64? I use Gerton Lunters Z80 v4.0 that uses a 16-bit installer, and thus cannot install to Vista x64.
