lol, I hope you don't think I am I've just read that it may actually hurt performance having both bridges attached. It does look the business though

how do you have the fan in the 5.25 drive bay mounted?
The fan in the bay is a real "hi-tech solution" - Blue tack on the bottom and a satay stick on the top. No vibration and it's secure

is that fan for show or does it help with air flow? i got a couple of non-l.e.d. fans laying around...

Re: Show us your rig

It's partly show, partly helpful. How helpful? I can't really give a definitive answer....

It does blow cool air straight onto the ram and one side of the CPU heatsink. It also helps push a little cool air behind the mobo too.

Basically it helps control the side fan flow a little while giving a few potential benefits.

If you've got a spare, give it a go and see if you feel it makes a difference. Just don't place the fan close to the front grill as the noise increases dramatically.

Re: Show us your rig

I made a few minor changes:

I had a 120mm fan on the bottom solely to exhaust cool air out the bottom of the case for the PSU to intake. I replaced the 120 with an old AMD CPU cooler fan and moved the 120mm fan to help augment the front 230mm.

By moving the 120mm, It actually knocked a few degrees off the HDD temps as well as providing a little extra cool air for the video cards to intake.

I said my cable management was getting lazier (it was neat once upon a time )

Re: Show us your rig

Patrick, all your cables are behind the mobo. That is about as tidy as you can get.
If it does not effect the airflow and can not be seen, then dont worry about it.

That's pretty much my school of thinking too mate. I was just a little surprised at how 'wild' I let that side get as I kept adding more devices and cables. All the airflow is working where it counts and as long as I can put the side on, it's all good

Re: Show us your rig

Given the discussion on how to minimize cabling, it seems like one idea would be to have a case with the common cables "built in" so that you just have a little bit sticking out to plug into the drive or the motherboard or the power supply. That might be a bit spendy since there would probably need to be different versions of the case for each of the major motherboard manufacturers... unless folks were willing to adopt a standard.

Still, that would certainly be a cool looking (and probably easier to cool) box.

Lol, yeah. You spend so much time making sure one little wire is neat from one angle, only to forgot about the other 5 loose cables... then you say "bugger it" and then shove the rest in

Nice rig BTW
