DVD Burning Fails In Vista x64 Ultimate

Hey guys, I'm having the weirdest problem here. I recently re-installed Vista Ultimate x64 and everything seemed okay until I tried burning a DVD. The drives are all detected and can be read from, and nothing in the control panel looks off, but every time I try any DVD burning software I get zero results. What's weird is they worked on my last install, but not this one. Nothing has changed in the hardware config so I can't figure this one out.

The drives in question are a HP SATA DVD burner and a Sony USB DVD burner. Neither device works with anything I've tried, but I can read from both of them with no problem. Any advice would be great right now as I'm totally lost on this one.

Thanks for the tip. I had uninstalled the drives through the control panel, but I never had gotten around to actually uninstalling the driver. I'm burning a DVD as we speak, so clearly your advice was the key. Thanks for the quick response. I feel like a total n00b right now:o
