| Vista Ultimate x64 | RAM question I've got a question about Ram memory. Is it very important when you're gaming? Because when I play The Battle for Middle-Earth 2, which is a fairly old game with which my pc should easily be able to cope, I notice that when I put the graphics higher, everything goes very slow and not smooth at all. My RAM is only 1 GB big. Amplid |

Because when I play The Battle for Middle-Earth 2, which is a fairly old game with which my pc should easily be able to cope, I notice that when I put the graphics higher, everything goes very slow and not smooth at all. My RAM is only 1 GB big. Amplid Vista runs much better with 2GB or more (preferably more) RAM. Question - What graphics card are you using? |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: RAM question I'm using NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256MB. To upgrade my RAM, I buy RAM Cards compatible with my motherboard and install them on it, right? Anything I should be carefull with when I install them?? Thanks already for advice |

| Windows Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: RAM question ![]() If you're forcing them - you're either putting them in wrong, or you've bought the wrong type. Be gentle and you won't have any problems. And consult with your motherboard manual to see what types and capacities the memory slots support - and in what configuration (not all motherboards can deal with 2GB memory sticks, for example). |

| Vista home premium 64 bit | Re: RAM question Sounds like your page file may be getting a hit with those specs, that is why your computer will be slowing down. For your computer memory, if you are not sure what to get look here; Memory upgrades, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com or tell us your specs and we will give you advice. If you can afford it get a gfx card with more memory. Newer games use more textures and it is these that take most memory on the GFX. |
