Hi all,

I'm using HDTune to benchmark my HD which is a Samsung T166 HD501LJ. The Access time used to be 15ms, but now its 16.5ms or so. I don't remember changing anything hard drive related. What could be the cause of this?

Edit: Well the hard drive is filled up more now since I've ran the last test (15ms) but it has been defragged. Could this be it?

Edit2: ok thats not it. I moved all files to a seperate physical drive and its still the same.

Have you recently updated drivers to your motherboard perhaps? These may also include drivers for your IDE/SATA/RAID controllers that could be affecting the HDTune results.

No I haven't updated any drivers. I've only installed SP1. I'm not sure if it occurred before SP1 because I don't remember if I benchmarked it or not.

I have updated the Intel INF chipset drivers and its still at a higher access time.

I believe that I read somewhere that SP1 can/does install some driver updates. Read so much the past couple weeks I can't remember where.
