Need help.......

I had a death in the family yesterday. My long time friend Asus A7M 266 died. Yes it's sad. So I had to go out and buy a new family member. She is sleek and very fast. I must say it's a long time overdue. It just happend at the wrong time when I'm need my data NOW! (like everybody else)

Anyway, I have to get data off of my old HD. Because I can't transfer between old machine and new machine due to the crash of the Motherboard, I had to buy a Drive Case enclosure for my old HD. Now here comes the problems. All data in "My Documents" is protected. I cannot get any documents, picutures or Music because of "ownership" and security (Vista sucks right now). Can you suggest anything for me to do? I'm almost in dire straigts and have to get some data out of Outlook for a job interview phone number I need to call. Also I have much more data I need to transfer. I am almost to the point that I'm going to start throwing things. YES I'm that frustraited.

Can you offer any suggestions?

Vista is going to be a good program. I'm having a hard time learning a new software at a critical time with all of the data transfer problems.

Re: Need help.......

Yes I did. It is not that easy or I'm just stupid. I've tried and everytime It makes me do it on an individual basis for each data set. I want to grab the whole file but it wont let me.

Re: Need help.......

I've actually had the situation where I had to do each data set individually. I didn't find a workaround; I just trudged through it. Not that that should make you feel better. But there is a possibility that this was put in place intentionally.

AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+, 6GB DDR2 PC6400 (800MHz) RAM, 2x Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 TOXIC Edition (Crossfire Mode), ASUS M2R32-MVP Motherboard, Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeGamer, Western Digital 250GB HD
