XP Pro / Ultimate 64 dual boot issue

I recently purchased a new SATA drive for my system and installed XP Pro, then used Acronis Disk Director to create a partition for my Ultimate 64 install. When I install from the DVD, I can select the partition just fine, everything seems to install just fine. But when it reboots at near completion, it hangs at 'press any key to boot from CD or DVD.....'

It just sits there, the flashing cursor taunting...wanting to work, but just doesn't.

If I remove the Ultimate 64 installation DVD the computer boots just fine into XP Pro.

I have tried with both a logical and primary partition.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

When you remove the DVD , does XP automatically start or you start it from the boot-menu (containing both Vista and XP) ?

If its the former i think it has something to do with the Vista BCD not getting installed properly.
