Canon MP 470 help

I know this isn't techinically a Vista problem but I have tried everywhere else to find an answer. I just bought a Canon MP 470 and I am running it off of Vista Home Premium. When I go to print pictures off it prints very lightly. However, when I copy a picture from the scanner, the print is fine. I have adjusted everything I can thing of and still nothing. No matter how much I change the color intensity, nothing changes. Does anyone know what could possibly be the problem? I keep trying to contact Canon and just keep being put on hold. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Here > Color management > Look for your printer > Is there a profile attached?
Which one?

Ok, I don't see where to click on "Color Managment". I guess I am an idiot. When I open the printers folder it does show my printer. It says Canon MP470 Series Printer.

Rightclick then "properties". You should see "color management".
Running XP here in the office. Will try to assist further when home.

Thank you for all your help. I really do appreciate it. I found what you were talking about and now it's printing darker. It still prints light in Microsoft Office Picture program and the Windows Photo Gallery but in Photoshop and other photo programs it prints correctly. I don't know why it doesn't print right in the others but I will just have to remember to not print from there. Again, thank you for your help. You've helped me out tremendously!!!!

Photogallery has issues with ICM (perhaps also other...) profiles.
Open up a picture in Photoshop and the same one in Photogallery .
Swap between them and watch the difference on your LCD screen.

Yes... it's all about colour calibrating your Monitor, graphics card, printer, scanner and software.... there is a lot of reading to be done and dealing with the inherited difficulties with an LCD monitor.

Basically you will have to learn how to set Colour profiles for each of these things.

Do google searches on colour calibrating...and colour profiles (you might want to try the american spelling od "color" for more articles)
