| Vista Ultimate x64 | Hello and help Hello everyone, I found these forums due to the new computer I built and the problems I am having. I lay at your feet in hopes of some help. Compter specs are EVGA 790i SLI Ultra mb, Q 9450 cpu, EVGA 9800 GTX 512 meg Vid card, 4 gigs Patriot 1333 ram, 1000 w Silverstone PSU, 750 gig Samsung SATA Hd. Ok the problem. I loaded Vista Ultimite x64 from the start I had problems with it becoming unresponsive. It has totaly locked up several times causing me to hard boot the system, ( I hate doing that) it started to seem a little more stable 2 days ago so I loaded a new game but once I was able to connect I was only getting 15 fps. I checked my performance score and found that aero was 3.7 and gaming was 4.4 , the rest were 5.9........all not relative at this point. So yesterday while just playing solitare It locked up again, I rebooted but this time it will no longer recover. I cant get into windows, I tryed safe mode with network support, again it locked up. I am now very frustrated. Any help ? Edit: I had the cruuent drivers loaded as well but not SP1, Udate didnt find it for me Last edited by Chevtek; 05-29-2008 at 10:22 PM.. Reason: info addition |

| Vista x64 > Vista Home Premium 32bit > Vista x64 | Re: Hello and help I don't really know what to say - I've had a lot of problems with Vistax64 (see http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/155492-vista64-lots-problems.html). As soon as I put Vista 32-bit, all of the problems (except for the occasional freeze, which I still get in Vistax64) went away. I'm not sure what is causing the freezes. I have the same motherboard as you, so possibly MoBo? |
