Problem

Well I have a pretty bad problem. Basically I cannot log into the administrator account anymore. I am the administrator and I type in the proper password that is not the problem. The problem comes in after the password is entered. It says User P Service service could not log in. Log in failed. It runs ok in safe mode but I can't do anything as an administrator any longer and cannot get into the administrator account... =( Plz help.

Well, the problem with those is the computer refuses to do anything administrative. I am on the guest account and I type in my password when it says I need administrative permission and it comes up with errors like, "CMD cannot be located". All these files that I know are in the computer are unaccessible even when I type in my password. In safe mode the computer dosn't even click those things. It does nothing, I click when needs to be changed and the button clicks but nothing come up.

Re: Problem

Hi Lilith,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

You might try doing a System Restore from booting from your Vista installation DVD using a restore point dated before the problem. Method Two in this tutorial will show you how to if needed.

System Restore - How to

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Problem

Wait. You're in a guest account but you're only typing in your password?

That doesn't sound right at all. I am obviously missing something.

When you are in a limited user account and need administrative privileges, you should be asked for both a username and password, right? Or does it already show you your admin username and only ask for you password?

If so, and you cannot boot into that account, then that is part of your problem....

You'll want to boot into the ultra hidden administrator account (called Administrator) in order to fix your original profile first so you can boot into it....
