Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1....

Re: Post your Desktops!

Home Premium leaves out a lot of times that prevent it from being used in a corporate environment, for one thing.

But your question is a very subjective question - what may not be beneficial or desirable for *you* may be not only desirable but a *requirement* for someone else....

Re: Post your Desktops!

Quite true. Not being in a corporate environment, the only real benefits I've ever seen to ultimate over home premium have been the moving wallpapers and the (very few) other extra's, like the extra game. As I don't play games other than Civilization IV, that leaves the moving wallpapers.... and to be honest, I've never found the difference in price between the two versions to be worth it for that alone.

But again, I am very open to being converted to the ultimate crowd.
If MS would get off their behinds, and actually create the extra's which would make ultimate worth it to me....then I would definitely get the upgrade...

Now....a question.... does anyone know a place where you can get dream desktop thingies for free? I can't seem to find good sites for those things....
