| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: Mp3 Files Details Problem I seem to recall that in XP prof 64 there was a problem with xp only supporting ID3v1 tags wheras most taggers used ID3v2 I'm just wondering if this is still the case. as I use 32 bit vista can't check this out.you may want to check what your tagger is using |

| Vista 32bit | Re: Mp3 Files Details Problem I've tried with ID3v1 and v2, but nothing changed in explorer ![]() I can see tags with winamp or WMP, the problem is probably in the registry, but where :'( |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: Mp3 Files Details Problem Ok looks as if the reg clean removed a registry entry for a dll that is needed to edit tags. Check in event viewer for the error message and it should mention the .DLL in the details you then have to re-register that dll in an admin cmd prompt regsvr32 [dll name].dll and see if that helps. Back up registry first ![]() |

| Vista 32bit | Re: Mp3 Files Details Problem The only error message 0x80040154 found in event viewer is 1 year old, and do not seem to be the cause of my problem It is very old, I didn't have any problem at this moment |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: Mp3 Files Details Problem ok dams I think that this problem does relate to either an unregistered DLL or windows API, caused by the reg cleaner without the name though I dont think there are many options. apparently 32bit and 64 bit use different calls so you could try the 32 bit explorer alternatively other than a re-install it may be an idea to look at a third party solution one Here is old but may work. suggest you have a look for modern alternative . I would keep checking error log to see if the error message appears and then try to re-register the missing call.if I do come accross anything I will post here good luck! think you may need it as there does not seem to be any info on this fault that i can find. |

| Vista 32bit | Re: Mp3 Files Details Problem Thanks for your help, but this didn't solve the problem ![]() I'll check if there is a fix for the registry, otherwise I'll try a Windows repair. It is the last solution imo |

| Vista 32bit | Re: Mp3 Files Details Problem Yes, I am running SP1. I'll try these 2 things and keep you informed! Edit: there are many errors, I try with /SCANNOW Edit 2: Ah! I've found the solution! I downloaded shmedia.dll (that is from Windows XP) and typed regsvr32 shmedia.dll, MP3 tags are back!! But I still have the problem with de thumbnails with my video files (and properties are still not shown) Last edited by Dams; 08-18-2008 at 11:27 AM.. |
