HELP! Windows have a mind of their own!

Hi all,
I hope someone can help me, because I have reached the end of my patience with this stupid computer.
I bought this laptop in February 2008 and I have had problems with the windows minimizing and maximizing from the beginning. They seem to have a mind of their own. I will be typing along or browsing and all of a suddent the window will minimize. I can reopen it and click back on the page and it will minimize again. It is getting worse.
I bought two of these the same day and one belongs to me and the other one is my daughters, however, hers was not doing this until recently. She says it has started doing it.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is it Vista or the computer itself? I am really ready to get this thing fixed! Get more and more frequent and aggravating!
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Ginger

Hi, Kintothe King, and welcome to the forums.

Knowing what type of laptop you have exactly would help. Different laptops have different designs, and it is possible that your touchpad is overly sensitive, or else a setting has been enabled by an update that causes minimizing of windows with certain keyboard shortcuts....

Also, have you run antivirus and antimalware scans on the computer to make sure you're not infected with something?

 I am so sorry, I made the assumption that the information I entered in my profile would show up.
I am using a Toshiba Satellite A205, Intel Pentium Dual Core, Windows Vista Home 32 bit.
I know that it is not a virus, I know that it is not the touch pad. It did it right out of the box and I run a wonderful virus protection at all times and do regular scans. I have made sure that my hand is no where near the touchpad when it is happening, so it is not that.
It happens most frequently in browser, but I use my browser more than anything. So hard to say that it happens less any where else when I rarely use it except while on the internet.
My son seems to think that it is an interface problem. It has happened to him a lot too. I am not even sure what an interface is so I could not argue nor disagree!
Thanks for your help! I am having some other problems I am about to post in the networking forum, so if you can help out there too I would appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Ginger

Hmmm - Have you contacted Toshiba about this problem?

And my apologies as well - I saw that Vista HP 32bit but did not look at your profile for machine info....just not enough time to do that with everyone's posts....

No, you are exactly right, you don't have time to look at everyones profile. I just made the assumption that the stuff I entered in the CP would show up like everyone elses. I should have looked closer. You owe no apologies.
No, I have not contacted Toshiba, I wanted to check to see if it was a Vista problem or a Toshiba problem.
Is there an offical Vista website I should try?
Thanks again for all your help!
