Have you picked Recovery or Factory Default Software?

If you picked the first, try a system boot repair with the Vista Disk.
If you picked the second, you'll have to reinstall your OS.

After you click on the Recovery or Factory Default Software, you click on Recover to out-of-box-state.

Is this (in red) what you did?
If you don't have a Vista install disc then you can't put it back like it was before you did this.
You deleted the OS and the recovery partitions and re-formatted the HDD.

EDIT: That's a stupid option to offer the average user!
