| | Should I still install all drivers. After a format and install of Vista Home Premium, I checked the device manager and the only banged out item was video. After installing its drivers all items were listed as OK. Should, or better, do I have to install all the other original drivers? They are all on a "Driver and Apps" DVD from the manufacturer and are a real pain to install. Thanks |

| | Re: Should I still install all drivers. is the OS disc an actual Windows disc, or is it one of those recovery CD/DVDs from your manufacturer? If it's a recovery disc, I think they slipstream everything you need in, don't they? |

| | Re: Should I still install all drivers. The OS is on its own disk. It is a Vista Home Premium x64/i86 DVD. The "Drivers and Apps" are on their own disk. Each has to be installed separately and a reboot is recommended after each. Takes about two hours. |

| | Re: Should I still install all drivers. I would think that if you aren't having any problems, i wouldn't worry about it. Vista should include drivers for most current hardware anyway. The only things I would make sure to update are the Video card and sound drivers, since those are the only ones that tend to change frequently. |

| | Re: Should I still install all drivers. It would be better to use the original disc, as sometime MS will 'find' crappy drivers for some things. Later Ted |

As bare Foot Kid has said, install all origanal drivers. I know it is a pain but it will ensure your system is 100% compatable. It may be an idea to creat a drivers disk for your computer. Reinstalling an OS is not unhurd of in the computer world, infact it has to happen quite alot. Mainly to clear the HD of alot of rubbish. Using the drivers by Microsoft is never wise. | | Re: Should I still install all drivers. No, I would *not* install original drivers I would visit your machine's manufacturer web site and download that *latest* drivers. You never know how old those drivers are. |
