UAC Password

My friend has a computer that he lets people he knows use. He wants to have them on a normal user account, but be able to run elevated programs when he puts in the password. Windows Vista has this feature built in when you try to run anything elevated. The only problem is where it says:

Enter an Administrator Password:

There is no area to enter one, and when you type it doesn't output anything, not even hidden. The OK button is always grayed out. I had no idea what was wrong, anyone know?

Re: UAC Password

Hi ZeratuelX,
Sounds like one settings is disabling another. Please look at this tutorial and see if you can find out:

Re: UAC Password

Hi rajinisback,

I don't think this will help as when we try to run elevated, we are doing it from a normal account so that other people do not have to be logged into an administrator to use elevation.

We can log into the admin account though if we need to change a setting. The goal is to be able to run elevated while in a regular user.

Do you need a screenshot?
