dual boot system

I shrank the main Vista partition and created a 2nd partition, formatted it as NTFS and named it E:. Now I want to install 2003 server on the partition. Setup on the CD will not run in compatibility mode so I have to boot from the CD. Is the setup software going to see the two paritions and ask me which one I want to install onto? Right now when I boot up Vista no other partition shows up, but I am assuming that is because at this point partition #2 is not bootable.

Hi jlavell

Welcome to the forums.

You can boot from the Windows 2003 cd and accept the license agreement and the CD will show you the partitions it sees. You can do that much without touching Vista. No other partitions will show until the new one you made becomes a logical drive.

Never heard of dual booting these. Let us know how it goes if you do it.
