Thanks Taxidave Just about all new DVD drives today will work with Vista x64 on the hardware level. Just be sure it comes supplied with DVD Burning software that is x64 compatible. I use Nero 8. I'll recommend that you go with an LG drive. They have proven to be the most reliable. Although have you perhap considered getting a BLU-RAY drive instead? |

| Vista Ultimate 32/64 bit | Re: DVD-CD Drive As cheap as DVD drives are these days you can get a quality drive for $30-$40 easily. No disrespect to Dzomlija's LG preference, but I've never owned one. I can recommend Pioneer 215 (SATA) 115 (PATA), Samsung 203B (SATA), NEC/Optiarc 72** in either SATA or PATA versions and most Lite-Ons are solid drives. A good place to make comparisons is CD Freaks as they regularly review new drives features and performance. Good luck and happy burning. |
