How Much?

How much does a 320 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive for a Notebook Costs?

I Really need to know, and Vista Ultimate 32 Bits supports 4 GB?
Asus Tek said to me that yes.

And does Vista x64 is better for gaming?

Re: How Much?

Hi,

4gb is the max any 32bit system can support - 64bit architecture can in theory use 6000gb - I believe Vista 64bit Ultimate can support up to 128gb - good luck finding a motherboard which can handle that.

Re: How Much?

In my experience, 64-bit Vista with 4GB's of RAM beats 32-bit Vista and Windows XP hands-down as far as gaming is concerned. With the same machine only using 2GB's of RAM, XP is the better gaming OS, followed by 32-bit Vista and then 64-bit.

Hard drive prices are going to depend on where you shop. I have no clue what prices are like in Brazil. I can tell you that US customers going to newegg.com can get them for ~ $160.00.

Are you sure? In U.S it costs 160 US a NOTEBOOK HD 7200 RPM?
I want to know the price in U.S. because they can ship to Brazil i think.

Re: How Much?

The laptop will use maximum 3gb of ram if running a 32x bit os .
I'd recommend upgrading to 64x bit, im planning on doing it aswell soon...

Re: How Much?

Hi,

32bit supports 4gb but the o/s reserves some so you see a little less, around 3.6gb I believe.

Check the manufacturer's website to see if your notebook supports 64bit .

Laptop/notebook hard drives are smaller than than those for desktop pc's
2.5" ? as opposed to 3.5" - don't recall the exact size for a laptop, but it's definitely smaller .

Fumz said no such thing to you. He only pointed out which OS was better at gaming, in his opinion.
