Can anyone tell me if Vista Home Premium x64 has a MSCONFIG in the start bar?
Want to turn off a few start up programs that are not needed, thanks Joe

Hi joe1967, and welcome to the Vista Forums,

yes msconfig is there - just click on the Start Orb and type msconfig into the search bar and enter.

also you may want to check out Control Panel - Programs and use Defender to control the programs that load at start-up

Click START button, then click RUN, then type" msconfig," without quotation mark, then click ENTER (or OK). Then click STARTUP tab and uncheck as many programs as your heart desires or disable all. Click Apply, then OK. Click START button, then Restart option (or Shutdown option for starting later on). Then go back (repeat msconfig steps)as needed to re-check back item/s you want to run with startup (the fewer the better for quicker startup or reboot). Each visit to STARTUP tab requires shutdown or restart option and re-starting (right away or later on)to be effective (unless you click CANCEL on the way out).
