| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 Windows 7 Ultimate x64 TECHNET | Backup and Restore Center Hey Guys, Does the complete pc backup compress the files..like say 20 GB on two 4.7 disks or is it linear like 5 4.7 disks for 20 GB? And I don't know why but if I do a complete backup and then try to boot off the disks and press enter it doesn't recognize the disk and just boots up normally. |

| Vista Ultimate X64 SP2 | Re: Backup and Restore Center Lets put it this way I backed up a 200Gb raid 0 drive with 40Gb space used onto 5 dvd's... approx 20Gb As for installing pc backup: insert O/S dvd, restart, hit any key to boot from disk, follow prompts for recovery, click Windows complete pc restore, THEN insert last dvd of the recovery image. At prompt, insert first disk of recovery image. Last edited by rive0108; 12-03-2008 at 07:52 PM.. |

| Vista 64-bit Ultimate Win7 64-bit Ultimate XP SP3 32-bit Pro | Re: Backup and Restore Center Hello Airbot. I believe gateway PCs have a "Recovery Partition" you would access from an off start by pressing the power button and continually tapping the F11 key. Why are you trying to 'recover' the machine? Keep us informed! Later Ted |

| Vista Ultimate X64 SP2 | Re: Backup and Restore Center I have restored two computers from complete pc backup, and both times I had to insert the last disk of the image for it to recognize the image and start the recovery. Now I just write BOOT Disk on the last image disk so I dont forget. lol |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 Windows 7 Ultimate x64 TECHNET | Re: Backup and Restore Center Hi Bare Foot Kid, Oh no I'm not trying to restore it, just trying to be sure the backup and restore center is working correctly. Awhile ago I did a clean install of Ultimate from Home Premium and have since wiped the gateway recovery partition off. I just didn't know you had to put the last disk in first and why. |
