Hi i'm brand new here so if this post is in the wrong spot please forgive me.
last week i was recoding some video's using Nero's Recode program (sidenote worked great) but now my 100 gig laptop on has 2 gigs of space left from the original 60 gigs free space. where did it go?? the video files have been deleted, i've used the disc clean-up program to remove the temp files and used the registry to enable Pagefiles removeal from another post of this forum. that clean up some on the space i now have 20gigs free space but i still am missing 40 more gigs that i have before i starting the recodeing.
in my disk de-fragmenter is shows me that i have a huge "yellow" portion of paging files still left and by just guessing it should be that extra 40 gigs just by seeing the size of the "yellow" bar.
how do i get rid of these "paging files" and how do i reclaim my lost space?

Thx Both CCleaner and the Shadow Storage size did return some of the space, but there is still those paging files that show up in my disk defrager. where do i go to delete these?? i've changed the registry to delete them but that does not seem to work

SP1 Disk Cleanup Tool recovers space regardless of when SP1 installation was done? I mean, my notebook came already with SP1 and I know some older PC's did not in which case SPI was installed later.

Should SP1 be permanently installed, anyway? Why would SP1 uninstallation be considered?

Thanks Shawn, this cleared up 2.7 gigs of space, but i also found a hidden files in my windows folder that didn't show up on any searches that i ran the folder was 20 gigs in size. thanks to all that helped... i can only hope i can help some one else
