Hello Elvin, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Are you able to do a System Restore using Method Two at boot with a restore point dated before this problem?

Well, other than a clean reinstall of Vista, you could try a repair (upgrade) install to try and fix the problem.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Sorry to hear that. If you have a spare USB flash drive, you might keep your drivers and stuff on it to make doing a reinstall easier on you if you shuold ever need to do so again.

I hope this time around goes smoother for you.

maybe not a spare usb drive, but do you think i can use the second partition of my hard drive? thats how i had it before but automatic back up kept on adding files to the D partition which only has like 8 gbs on it, and it got to a point where it was full, so i just formatted it, but so how would i increase the size of it to like 20 gbs maybe so i can back up files there and then in case of an accident just restore?

oo ok ima do that later, after it finishes cheking the disk,, it has been cheking it for almost an hour,, deleting entries and now it says replacing invalid intry with default entry in file ##### now is around the 1500000 file,,, think this is common or unsusal?

If you mean for check disk, then I suppose an hour is a bit long. It really depends on how big your hard drive is and how much you have on it though. I would not interrupt it and just let it finish.

nope boy guess what, after it was done with the chekdiskm which was on the whole hard drive, windows didnt boot anymore, after the loading screen it would just appear a black screen with white mouse pointer,, nothing else, now i had to format da hd and reinstall vista.... i googled it issue n i seen it happened to many people too... but now that im hea ima ask you something, if i disable the chkdsk utility and install perfectdisk 2008 pro, dat software would do the same as chkdsk and avoid what happened today right?

Check Disk cannot be disabled since it usually only runs when manually set to, and it would not cause this type of problem unless interrupted while running (ex: power loss) anyway. I do not believe using Perfectdisk would make any difference or not since we do not know what was the cause of your user profile error to begin with. My guess is corruption caused by something.

Oh, ok. In that case it will not hurt to try, but I do not think it would have had anything to do with the User Profile error.
