Windows Photo Gallery does not recognize my network, HP Laserjet
printer. The printer is the default printer for Windows Vista but when I try
to add it to Photo Gallery the program shuts down in error. How can I print
pictures to this device? the only printer listed is the xps doc writer!

Hi Paul02,

I’m Ron, a member of the Windows Outreach Team. Now, I’m not tech support, but I’ve dealt with a similar problem. This fix seemed to work best for me.

First, I uninstalled the printer (the networked printer). Then take a USB cable and connect the printer you wish to eventually have networked directly to your PC. Go though the installation process.

Once you’re done, go into the properties and change the connection from the USB to the TCP/IP port that you use. Unplug the USB cable, just to keep things from getting crossed and you should be fine.

That should do it, but if not, feel free to repost. I’ll check back and see how it went.

Cheers,
Ron
