| Vista Home Premium 32 | Windows photo gallery problem How do I get rid of the Windows photo gallery frame and keep the picture? The frame shows up in my emails. Also I have an Olympus camera and I can't use the Olympus Master to download my photos into the picture album. The software which comes with the camera can't find the camera and it has worked before in XP. What can I do? I'd appreciate a response even if it is "you can't do anything about it in Vista"... I just would like to know the source of my problem. Also my HP printers, one is deskjet450 etc won't print in Vista. What can I do? |

| Vista Home Premium 32 | Re: Windows photo gallery problem Thank you I am just learning about this forum. I used gmail, maybe it's different in yahoo? I wanted to send a greeting with my photo to a friend and this frame keeps showing up... so frustrating. I have been using Vista now for 9 months but I can't use my HP printers with it, and I get error messages with my Olympus camera software and to tell you the truth I am thinking of giving up and getting XP installed again. Vista is too much of a challenge for me maybe. |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 Windows 7 Ultimate x64 TECHNET | Re: Windows photo gallery problem Yeah, I use yahoo and hotmail and I just attach the picture and it doesn't show the frame but maybe Gmail is different, I don't know. You could use the snipping tool to just screenshot your pic and attach it, maybe that will work. As to your camera and printer, I really don't know unless you had plug and play disabled and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers didn't work. Maybe you could post that question in the drivers section and some others might have a better answer, sorry I can't help more but give it some more time, there are a lot of knowledgable people in here. |

If you guys can help me out with Vista... long time ago I took programing at university.... long time ago, now I am just a newbie... I'll keep trying with this Vista thingy. There must have been a reason to introduce this troublesome operating system.... Aaron about clicking on the scales...what scales? Is the Olympus a USB or IEEE 1394 (Firewire) connection. For some reason Vista won't recognise older Cameras and Videos using IEEE 1394 Not sure what you mean by "Vista does not let me resize using Adobe photo elements". I use Elements all the time and have no problems. Can you describe how you try to resize? Regarding the HP deskjet450, there are Vista x64 Drivers for this printer. Check you have downloaded the correct driver (XP Drivers don't normally work) and it is installed correctly. If it is the correct driver you could try uninstalling the printer and install it by right clicking on the .exe and running it as "Administrator" The Olympus Master 2 program is not compatible with Vista X64. If you can get the Camera talking to your OS you can import your photos using Adobe Elements or Vista Photo Explorer. Norm |

| Vista Home Premium 32 | Re: Windows photo gallery problem I am using a USB connection, my camera is less than one year old an underwater model of Olympus. I am using an HP pavillion TX1000 notebook also less than a year old. When I try to run Adobe Photoshopelements 4.0 I get a message "This program has known compatibility issues" and a suggestion to fix it. I will look into how it suggests to do this. I'm frustrated with how many steps I have to take o do what was basically so simpl in XP. Norm, I have been on the computer for hours now and it is almost 2 am here so I am hitting the sack, but I will be back tomorrow and check out the rest of your advice. Gracias, merci, danke etc. |

Gracias, merci, danke etc. The version of Elements you are using is not Vista compatible. Elements is now up to version 7 You can get it to install and run by right clicking on the .exe and selecting Compatibility Mode for XP Norm |
