| Vista Home Premium x64 | Disk Boot Error I have an Acer AX 1200 with Vista Home Premium 64. The other day the comp started to get stuck right after the bios screen and says disk boot error and insert system disk. Vista load fine once I insert the disk and it will also load if I enter and exit the bios. My boot order in bios is set to HD first. Everything is find once Vista loads, it's just a little frustrating having to go through the bios everytime. What could be causing this? Thanks |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Disk Boot Error I've tried the startup repair and it says there is nothing wrong. I've used the recovery cd to restore the computer to factory defaults as well. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Disk Boot Error Everything's connected to the HD...it's a single drive. What's weird is that the computer will boot find if I enter and exit the bios. Also, it boots fine when I do a re-start. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Disk Boot Error I thought the problem was fixed but my computers been acting up again. The computer will come up with the disk boot error message the first time but will start fine upon reset. I've used the recovery disk and it shows and error relating to external storage or device. I don't have any external drives connected. Hmmm... |

| Vista Ultimate | Re: Disk Boot Error Is there a setting for Hard Disk Latency Time in bios? if so, try setting it to about 30secs. It sounds like your hard drive doesn't have enough time to initialize upon first boot. (it shouldn't happen, but if you have this option, try it)If it solves it, or even if not, you might have power problem on your hard disk's board. |
