eSATA

Hey guys, just purchased an eSATA PCI card, now I was wondering do I plug the hard drive directly in to the PCI card? If so great, if not thats horrible lol.

Re: eSATA

You should see an eSata cable along with the drive when bought new. That plugs into the port on the drive casing as well as into one of the ports on the addon card. Another cable should run out to one or more sata ports on the board itself.

Okay, so the internal Hard Drive would plug in to the eSata PCI card? And does the SATA cd/dvd drive also need to be?
thanks

Re: eSATA

With an internal drive the only time you would plug it into an addon card is on a board that lacks any sata ports. The addon card would have a sata controller card not simply one with ports.
