I'm trying to fix my firends computer, she's got issues of not being able to get to the control panel. It opens for about 5 seconds, then closes. I also cannot view the system properties when I right click on my computer to tell how much RAM her computer has. Malware or settings guys and girls?

The first error I got when I ran hijackthis read:

For some reason your system denied write access to the host file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, Hijackthis may not be able to fix this.

It then asked me to go to run and type in something to system 32 to get this file. I got the following:
