Parental Controls question

Hello, I use the parental control for my son and I really appreciate it. But I think he is enough old to install the programs himself, but I still have to limit his time and games on the computer. Everytime he wants to install something, either it asks for my password, either it says he has to be the administrator. Isn't there a way he can install the programs himself, without the need of my password and still have the time limit activiated on his account?

Thank you very much.

There are two options here:

1) You could create a new user account (an admin) and hide the account, then give him the password to install games with. This will not let him log into that account, but can install games.
2) Make his account an admin, and use parental controls to lock it up again.

Hmmm.... let me mess with my computer and see what I can come up with.

As for the first answer, you would create an admin account, and give him the password. The account would be hidden so that he could not log on.

Yea, it would be an issue, but I am really looking for the parental control to still be on (Time limit, game restriction), but this little message that asks for the admin password for some programs, I want it to dissapear :s

This is what I really want to do ... I don't know if an issue exists, but if you can find one, would be great :D

Ok, well you are right, you cannot apply PC to an admin account. After messing with this, and searching the net, it looks as if you cannot allow installation separately.

If you were to take off the restrictions on programs, then perhaps he could install. Try messing with the settings and see what you can come up with.

Sorry I could not come up with a more definitive answer. Though if you do find something, be sure to post it so we can all see it.
