Hi kiddieboy12,

This sounds like you are in Reduced Functionality Mode. If this is the case, the following Tutorial should be able to help: Reduced Functionality Mode

re: no desktop

If you can open Task manager with Ctrl+Alt+Del (or Ctrl+Shift+Esc), what happens if you click on the "new task" button in the lower right corner on the applications tab and type explorer.exe and enter - do you get explorer to run? --ch

Re: no desktop

Hi kiddieboy,

If you can get into Safe Mode, check that your administrator accounts have full control of the drive.

Right click on the Vista drive and select Properties then click the Security Tab

Re: no desktop

It might have something to do with chinese and english windows conflicting? Is your harddrive corrupt at all.

Re: no desktop

First we need to diagnose the problem properly.Maybe there's bad sectors or the windows registry is corrupt.Have you tried reinstalling windows? Also have you tried using CHKDSK.I you cant run CHKDSK from within windows you may need a vista repair disk to use command prompt, which brings me to another point.Follow this tutorial and repair windows.

If you cant you may want to read this article

Hope it helps
